The YSU Sokolov Honors College Transcribing Club recently held a joint transcribe-a-thon with honors students at University of Texas at Arlington. In all, 61 students from both schools transcribed about 400 documents in two hours. The collaboration resulted from the National Collegiate Honors Council conference last fall. The YSU Honors College's transcribing efforts began in August 2020 as a way for students to volunteer virtually while building community. Students transcribe documents through the Smithsonian and Library of Congress and have collectively transcribed more than 19,000 documents since inception.

Students on Youngstown State University's Concrete Canoe and Steel Bridge teams continue their winning ways, capturing first place in regional competitions and qualifying again for the national tournament.
