Youngstown State University is a comprehensive urban research university that offers over 11,500 students more than 100 undergraduate and graduate programs of study. YSU Honors students host Transcribe-a-thon with UTA

The YSU Sokolov Honors College Transcribing Club recently held a joint transcribe-a-thon with honors students at University of Texas at Arlington. In all, 61 students from both schools transcribed about 400 documents in two hours. The collaboration resulted from the National Collegiate Honors Council conference last fall. The YSU Honors College's transcribing efforts began in August 2020 as a way for students to volunteer virtually while building community. Students transcribe documents through the Smithsonian and Library of Congress and have collectively transcribed more than 19,000 documents since inception.
