The Order of Omega was founded in 1959 by a group of fraternity men who felt that individuals in the Greek community should be recognized for their service to both the fraternity system and the university.

The Youngstown State University Chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma, hosted by the Williamson College of Business Administration, installed 54 business students during induction ceremonies on the YSU campus.

BGS spans more than 190 countries. To be eligible, business students must be in the top 10 percent of the sophomore, junior or senior classes or the top 20 percent of the master's program.

The following people recently were initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation's oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines.

YSU students were recently inducted into Alpha Lambda Delta, a national honor society focused on academic scholarship, leadership and community service.

The YSU chapter of the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi has achieved Circle of Excellence Platinum status for 2018-19, the highest award in the society's Circle of Honor Awards Program.

The ceremony marked the 19th induction class at YSU. The Williamson College has now inducted 816 students.
