A team of six Youngstown State University Civil Engineering students defeated teams from 13 other universities and placed first at the Ohio Valley Student Conference Steel Bridge Competition in Cincinnati.

Thirty-one YSU Counseling graduate students were inducted as members of Chi Sigma Iota, an honor society dedicated to promoting excellence in the profession of counseling.

YSU foreign language education majors and faculty attended the Central States Conference on the Teaching of Foreign Languages/Ohio Foreign Language Association in Columbus, Ohio, this semester. Forty-three students in Youngstown State University's Williamson College of Business Administration have been inducted into the YSU Chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma, the world's premiere business honorary. Beta Gamma Sigma is reserved exclusively for schools accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. BGS members are found in all 50 states and more than 160 countries worldwide.

Six graduate students at Youngstown State University present their scholarly work and research at the annual Diversity of Scholarship event this semester on campus.

Fifteen Youngstown State University students attended the East-Central American College Dance Association conference in Kalamazoo, Mich. The group attended master classes in a variety of dance techniques, research presentations and video showings, as well as professionally adjudicated dance concerts featuring dance works from 25 regional college and university dance major and minor programs. Eleven YSU students performed in one of the adjudicated concerts.

A team of five students from the Williamson College of Business Administration at Youngstown State University placed third at the Chartered Financial Analyst Research Challenge in Cleveland. The YSU team made their inaugural appearance at the competition against nine other seasoned universities, placing ahead of teams that included graduate student members.

A team of three Youngstown State University students placed second nationally in the Intercollegiate Ethics Bowl. In all, teams from 36 universities competed this year in Virginia.

Golden Key is the world's largest collegiate honor society with more than 400 chapters at universities and colleges around the world. Membership is extended to the top 15 percent of sophomores, juniors and seniors, as well as top-performing graduate students in all fields of study, based on academic achievement.

Tartuffe, the classic 17th-century comedic satire by Moliere, will be presented by Youngstown State University Theater Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays Feb. 26, 27 and 28, and March 4, 5 and 6 in Bliss Hall's Spotlight Theater on the YSU campus.
