Nearly 1,200 students earned associate, bachelor, master and doctorate degrees at Youngstown State University's Spring commencement.

Youngstown State University has announced the 21st class of the Leslie H. Cochran University Scholars, the most prestigious scholarship at the university.

A dozen Youngstown State University students have been selected to participate in the 2013 Nonprofit Leadership Summer Honors Internship Program, funded by the Raymond John Wean Foundation. Sponsored by the YSU Student Government Association, the YSU Division of Student Affairs and the YSU Student Activities Office, the banquet honors current students and groups/organizations for academic excellence and overall achievement during the academic year.

Seven Youngstown State University students recently received the Pin Award, which annually recognizes graduating seniors who have achieved academic success and demonstrated outstanding leadership, motivation and creativity in university and community activities.

The Youngstown State University Dance Ensemble presented its annual spring concert in May, showcasing more than 30 students performing a dozen dances in a variety of genres, including jazz, tap, modern, musical theater and hip hop.

Twenty-six Youngstown State University students were recognized recently for their participation in the YSU Presidential Mentors Program. The mentors regularly meet with the university president to provide feedback and advice on a variety of campus topics. The students were honored at the recent Student Awards Banquet.

Several Youngstown State University students were recently inducted into Who's Who Among Students in American Universities & Colleges. Founded in 1934, this national program honors outstanding campus leaders annually for their scholastic and community achievements. The inductees were recognized at YSU's annual Student Awards Banquet.

QUEST showcases the scholarly achievements of YSU undergraduate and graduate students. The event includes research and scholarship in all forms - scientific findings, musical scores, engineering designs and analyses, panel discussions, poetry readings, dance performances, honors and senior theses, study abroad experiences, and more.

The primary goal of the organization is to promote and improve the ability of women at Youngstown State University to work within the various communication fields, like journalism, marketing, public relations and editing.

The News Outlet at Youngstown State University gives students experience reporting and producing investigative and enterprise stories. This academic year alone, News Outlet interns have produced more than 50 print stories and 35 radio stories.

The one-week tour to Dublin, Ireland, was designed to allow the students and faculty to network with entrepreneurs and explore the resources available for startups in the global market. The itinerary included meetings with Ireland-based entrepreneurs and start-up companies, visits to international business development agencies, business education sessions at Trinity College, and tours of well-known landmarks.

Twenty-five students in Youngstown State University's Williamson College of Business Administration have been inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma honor society, the world's premier business honorary. Becoming a Beta Gamma Sigma member is an honor indicative of commitment, high academic achievement and leadership.

Homework Express, a TV show produced by students at Youngstown State University, has earned a national honor.
