YSU student Melissa Wasser of McDonald, Ohio, excels at regional moot court competition

Melissa Wasser of McDonald, Ohio, a Political Science and Philosophy major at Youngstown State University participated in the Midwest Regional Tournament of the American Collegiate Moot Court Association.

The regional competition at the College of Wooster in Wooster, Ohio, included teams from universities throughout the Midwest, including the University of Chicago and Case Western Reserve University. At the competition, students simulate presenting legal arguments before the U.S. Supreme Court.

"This is critical thinking and oral advocacy at the highest level possible at the undergraduate level, against the top schools in the nation," said Ron Slipski, YSU team coach, adjunct YSU professor and local attorney.
