YSU student Jenna Wise of Hubbard, Ohio, honored in international mathematics competition

Jenna Wise of Hubbard, Ohio, a Mathematics and Computer Science major at Youngstown State University, received an award in the international Mathematical Contest in Modeling. More than 6,500 teams of undergraduate students competed worldwide. Wise received the distinction "Meritorious" for the submission titled "Making the Grade: Best Coaches of All Time."

Each year, the Consortium for Mathematics and Its Applications holds the Mathematical Contest in Modeling. Teams have 96 hours to develop a model of the problem, create a solution and submit a written report for judging.
