Samantha Anderson member of third-place YSU Financial Analyst Research Challenge team

Samantha Anderson of Youngstown, Ohio, is one of five Youngstown State University students to place third as a team at the Chartered Financial Analyst Research Challenge in Cleveland.

The Research Challenge is an annual event held globally in association with the CFA Institute, providing undergraduate and graduate students the opportunity to integrate coursework into a project that mimics what analysts do in practice. Following a thorough analysis, students make their buy, sell or hold recommendation on a publicly traded company.

The YSU team made their inaugural appearance at the competition against nine other seasoned universities, placing ahead of teams that included graduate student members.

Anderson is a senior Finance and Economics major in the Williamson College of Business Administration at YSU.
