Rebecca Vanvoorhis of Canton, Ohio, performs in YSU Dance Ensemble

Rebecca Vanvoorhis of Canton, Ohio, a student at Youngstown State University, performed in the YSU Dance Ensemble's spring concert in May.

The event showcased more than 30 students performing a dozen dances in a variety of genres, including jazz, tap, modern, musical theater and hip hop.

The YSU Dance Ensemble, a sanctioned student organization, accepts members via an audition process in the fall semester. Members practice weekly and hone their performance and leadership skills. Many of the students' works are choreographed by students of the bachelor of arts in Dance Management major in the Department of Theater and Dance.
