Paul Farbman of Austintown, Ohio, a Junior at Youngstown State University, is serving as a Peer Mentor in YSU's Center for Student Progress. Paul is majoring in Early Childhood Education.

Peer Mentors, chosen through a rigorous selection process, are YSU students who assist first-year students by providing academic support, campus connections, and timely university information during weekly meetings. Students are connected to their Peer Mentor before the semester begins at their orientation program or during Class Find Day, a program that assists new students in navigating campus. Peer Mentors receive approximately 80 hours of training in preparation for the demands of the position.
