Natalie Halavick selected to present at national honors conference

Junior Youngstown State University student Natalie Halavick of Vienna, Ohio, was selected to present at the 51st Annual Conference of the National Collegiate Honors Council in Seattle, Wash., this semester.

Halavick, a member of the Honors College and a Mathematics major at YSU, presented "Analyzing Historic Crime and Neighborhood Stabilization in Youngstown, Ohio" in the student poster session. This study uses a mathematical approach to predicting crime in the city of Youngstown. Regressions were utilized to form a model that predicts the number of crimes in various areas in the city.
