Melanie Batcho of Mineral Ridge, OH, participates in Youngstown State University Dublin Entrepreneurship Study Tour

2013 Apr 2

Melanie Batcho of Mineral Ridge, OH, a student in the Williamson College of Business Administration at Youngstown State University, recently returned from a one-week entrepreneurial study tour in Dublin, Ireland.

The tour was designed to allow the students and faculty to network with entrepreneurs and explore the resources available for startups in the global market. The itinerary included meetings with Ireland-based entrepreneurs and start-up companies, visits to international business development agencies including IDA and Enterprise Ireland, business education sessions at Trinity College, and tours of well-known landmarks.

International study tours are designed to augment the theoretical understanding of entrepreneurial business provided by YSU with a "hands-on" experience of international travel (visas, immigration, customs, foreign currencies), international businesses and non-US cultures. Business students have expanded their knowledge of international business through other study tours to China, Italy, Turkey and India.
