Mariah Carna chosen for YSU's Beeghly Fellows Program

2017 Oct 30

Mariah Carna of New Bedford, Pa., is one of four Youngstown State University business students selected for the John D. Beeghly Fellows program for Fall 2017. Carna, a Wilmington Area High School graduate, is majoring in International Business in the Williamson College of Business Administration.

The Beeghly Fellows program provides students with a paid fellowship working with the Ohio Small Business Development Center at YSU. Projects include marketing research, preparation of financial statements, export readiness studies, country research, business plan development, cash flow analysis and sales forecasting.

The program is made possible by an endowment established at the YSU Foundation by the family of John David Beeghly. Beeghly was a lifelong resident and businessman in Youngstown and a son of area industrialist and philanthropist Leon A. Beeghly. He served as vice president and director of Standard Slag Co. and Stancorp, Inc., a holding company for industrial businesses.
