Lexi Rager selected to present at national honors conference

2016 Oct 18

Sophomore Youngstown State University student Lexi Rager of Bristolville, Ohio, was selected to present at the 51st Annual Conference of the National Collegiate Honors Council in Seattle, Wash., this semester.

Rager, a member of the Honors College and an Integrated Mathematics Education major at YSU, presented "Fall Immersion: An In-Depth View of an Honors College for Prospective Students" at the Idea Exchange on Recruitment and Retention. The presentation detailed YSU Fall Immersion, an overnight program for high school juniors and seniors that takes place on YSU's campus during fall semester. High school students shadow a current Honors student who exposes them not only to academic aspects of being a college student, but also to the unique culture and community of the Honors College.

NCHC is the professional association of undergraduate honors programs and colleges. The annual conference brings together directors, faculty members and students to celebrate a broad and diverse collegiate honors community through presentation sessions, speakers, trainings, special events and more.
