Greta Frost member of award-winning YSU honorary

Greta Frost of North Jackson, Ohio (44451), is a member of Youngstown State University's student chapter of Pi Sigma Alpha, which earned the national political science honorary's Best Chapter Award for the second year in a row. Frost, is a graduate level Economics major who earned a YSU bachelor's degree in Political Science in May.

Pi Sigma Alpha previously recognized the YSU Alpha Rho Chapter in its inaugural year with the 2015-16 Best Chapter award, and the group was also presented the Nova Award by the YSU Student Activities Office as "the most promising new student organization."

Throughout the 2016-17 academic year, the YSU chapter met with Chinese and Taiwanese students at a Republican Convention Watch Party on campus, co-hosted a "Rock the Vote" event with Student Government Association, worked with SGA to promote the Presidential Debate Watch Party on campus, hosted a documentary screening of "Traficant: The Congressman of Crimetown," worked with the Sociology Club to promote a student debate on campus, hosted an induction dinner for new members and participated in various community service activities.

The YSU chapter is led by advisor Adam Fuller, assistant professor of Politics and International Relations.

The Best Chapter award is presented to local chapters that are particularly active in their departments and universities and exhibit high levels of energy and creativity in furthering the goals of the honor society. YSU was one of only four schools with enrollments between 6,000 and 15,000 students selected to receive a Best Chapter Award. Chapters achieving the Best Chapter distinction receive a $500 cash award.
